Fern & Flask collects only what we need to invite you into the reading circle and protect the form from misuse. We do not sell your personal information.
What we collect
When you join the reading circle, we collect your email address and, if you choose one, the tea ritual you are most interested in. We keep the date and version of your marketing consent with that record. To prevent abusive submissions, we briefly keep a pseudonymous identifier derived from the request’s network address with a private site key; we do not store the raw address or browser details.
How we use it
We use this information to send occasional news about small-batch releases, reading rituals, and Fern & Flask. Your optional ritual preference helps us make those notes more relevant.
Who helps us
Trusted infrastructure and email providers may process information for us only to operate the site and deliver our letters. We do not allow them to use it for their own marketing.
Your choices
You can leave the circle at any time using the unsubscribe link in a letter from us. You may also reply to one of our letters to ask for access to, correction of, or deletion of your information.
How long we keep it
We keep your subscription details while you remain in the circle, then retain only what is reasonably necessary to respect an unsubscribe request and meet legal obligations. Abuse-prevention counters stop affecting submissions after 15 minutes. Records older than 24 hours are removed when later signup traffic triggers maintenance, so final cleanup can occur after that threshold.
Cookies
The reading-circle signup does not use cookies. If that changes, we will explain the purpose here before relying on them.
Changes to this note
If our practices change, we will update this page and its date. Material changes will be shared through the reading circle when appropriate.
